The Connecticut Green Building Council (CTGBC) is a chapter of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) which covers the State of Connecticut. We are committed to transforming the way our buildings are designed, constructed and operated through LEED — the top third-party verification system for sustainable structures around the world. Every day USGBC is helping advance spaces that are better for the environment and healthier for us to live, work and play in.

Throughout the year, we hold a series of workshops on green building topics, networking opportunities, membership meetings, educational forums, seminars on green buildings and periodic Connecticut based LEED™ training in connection with the US Green Building Council. The CTGBC also monitors activities in Connecticut related to high performance green buildings and maintains a speakers bureau.

Health of Place at Yale

The inaugural Northeast Summit for a Sustainable Built Environment (NESSBE) theme is Health of Place: Health and Well-Being in the Environment. The CT Green Buiding Council (CTGBC) has organized a Northeast Regional Green Building Summit along with the Yale School of Forestry and Office of Sustainability and help from other regional green building organizations. This summit builds on former other USGBC Chapter summits, but is the inaugural event to include a larger community of building professionals, academics and owners in a regional conversation about sustainability in the built environment.

Join us at the inaugural Northeast Summit for a Sustainable Built Environment (NESSBE) to discuss how the built environment can promote health and well-being. We are starting a conversation that reveals the inextricable connection of sustainable design with improving and supporting human health and well-being. A variety of expert speakers will focus on health and happiness, biophilia, biomimicry, energy and water conservation, materials and resilience.
